Cirrus Airlines

Cirrus Airlines was established in February 1995 as Cirrus Luftfahrtgesellschaft GmbH and ran an executive charter operation. In March 1998, the airline was awarded a licence to operate scheduled services between Saarbrucken and Hamburg. February 2000 marked the fifth anniversary of Cirrus Airlines, and an important step was taken when a joint venture with German owned Lufthansa was started. Beginning in 2001, Cirrus Airlines gradually expanded its operations with scheduled flights between several German and European destinations. The airline's fleet includes a Boeing 737-500, Embraer Jet ERJ-170, Dash 8-300, Dornier 328 Jet, Falcon 900 DX and Legacy 600.

With its hub at Saarbrucken Airport, Cirrus flies to destinations throughout Germany, including Berlin, Mannheim and Hamburg. European destinations include Zurich, Salzburg, Chisinau in Moldova and Billund in Denmark. They also service a number of direct connections between these cities, such as Zurich to Dresden and Frankfurt to Billund.

When checking in, passengers must be in possession of a boarding card within a certain period of time before boarding otherwise, a seat cannot be guaranteed. Cirrus Airlines assigns confirmed seating at check-in. Check-in deadlines are 20 to 45 minutes prior to departure, depending on which airport you fly from.

Cirrus Airlines offers passengers the opportunity to participate in the global frequent flyer programme, Miles & More. Membership in the Miles & More programme is at no cost and is particularly useful for passengers who fly regularly. In-flight service includes snacks, a selection of refreshing drinks and alcoholic beverages, as well as the main daily newspapers.
