Atlantic Express

Prior to ceasing services in January 2007 after less than 1 year of service, the UK airline Atlantic Express offered services from Jersey Airport to London Stansted Airport. Formerly part of the Air Atlantique Group, Atlantic Express was the trade name for Atlantic Air Transport Limited, founded in 1985.

Despite services being operated between Jersey and London Stansted, the airline's headquarters were at Coventry Airport, UK. The airline's single route was serviced by five ATR-42, ATR 72-200 and Fairchild Metro III aircraft, which seat between 20 and 70 passengers. The airline owner, Atlantic Air Transport Limited holds a UK Civil Aviation Authority type A operating license, allowing the airline to carry passengers, mail and cargo on aircraft with a capacity for 20 or more passengers.

Upon the cessation of services, all passengers holding pre-booked tickets were refunded. The decision to terminate services was made by Atlantic Express' parent company, which was bought out, resulting in the redundancy of five Atlantic Express crew. There are currently no other operators providing services on the Jersey to London Stansted route however those in the industry are confident a new operator will pick up this route in the near future.
